The Forest of Dean, a large area of ancient woodland in Gloucestershire, offers a variety of tourist attractions and activities. Visitors can explore its diverse landscape, which includes ancient woodland, rivers and wildlife habitats. The area features historical sites like Clearwell caves and the Dean Heritage centre, where you can see one of the cider presses on loan from our very own cider barn.
There are the National Trust Water gardens at Westbury Court and Newnham on Severn offers spectacular views of the Severn estuary where you can catch surfers riding the Severn Boar wave on incoming tides (seasonal), Newnham offers several eating places and small galleries - The George Cafe is a good starting point. Up the road in Littledean you can visit the Bespoke Brewery for wood-fired pizza and a pint of local beer. On the A48 towards Gloucester there is the Severn and Wye Smokery for fine dining, fresh fish and delicatessen. There are several pubs in surrounding village offering food and drinks.

- Visit the Dean Heritage Centre to learn about the Forest's industrial past, including mining, and see a reconstructed Forester's Cottage

- Ride the Perrygrove Railway, explore the Gruffalo Trail at the Dean Heritage Centre, and enjoy the various family-friendly activities
